These dishes were originally conceived of as salt cellars, or salt pinchers as I like to call them. I throw them on the wheel as a regular cylinder, cut them off the wheel and then expertly drop them onto a board. Each dish is uniquely squished. The oblong shape of the opening allows for easy pinching, but you can use them for whatever you wish, of course.
The outside of the dishes are raw clay and underglaze dots, the insides are painted black and covered with a clear glossy glaze.
