An Inventory Of Objects Belonging
To A Young Woman Of Minneapolis

Thesis Project (Part One), 2007

This project takes an inventory of objects belonging to one person, who happens to be me, and builds a portrait of that person through those objects. It uses short stories brought up by the objects and quotes collected from journals. The many short, isolated stories and objects build throughout the book to communicate what this woman’s world is like. The objects have been cut out of their context and placed in a nether world of pattern to give the idea that this is this woman’s interior mind-scape. This collection takes its name from Christian Boltanski’s book, An Inventory of Objects Belonging to a Young Woman of Charleston.
